About

Just 8ft wide to the street, this house is ingeniously slotted into an unpromising plot to create a comfortable, sustainable family home that makes a virtue of its constrained site.

The design demonstrates how a low energy house can be achieved, even on a tight urban site.

The house won the RIBA House of the year & Manser Medal in 2009, the annual prize for the best one-off house designed by an architect in UK.
