About

How it works

This is a self-guided trail that covers three regeneration sites in Barking:

1. Industria
2. Phoenix Pocket Park
3. A House for Artists

Details for activities at each of these sites can be found below, and navigation between these sites will be self-guided, so visitors will need to navigate between these sites themselves (we will provide transport advice on the day).

Please note, there are limited spaces available for the Industria section of this tour, so this is a ticketed event that requires booking in advanced. The other sites do not require advanced booking, but they do have a maximum capacity of 150 people at any one time.

Industria

Industria is a striking, flexible industrial building that sets pioneering new standards for sustainability. It is targeting an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) rating, an EPC A+ rating, and will have a 100% solar PV roof cover.

Industria officially launches just days before this event, so visitors will be among the first people to see the development in person. We will have a representative from the developer, Be First, and the architect, Haworth Tompkins, providing a guided tour of the development, providing insight into the scheme, the architectural principles behind it, and what it means for the borough.
