About

Peter Cushing House

Fully restored Art Deco home built in 1926 by the Cushing family and once the home of the actor Peter Cushing, OBE. Awarded English Heritage Blue Plaque in 2018.

Saved from decay and near demolition on two occasions, this historic house of architectural and local importance has been sympathetically restored in great detail and expense by the current owners.

Retaining many original features and unaltered footprint in almost 100 years, with no modifications or extensions.

Even the flat lawn lays testament to its former use as a tennis court from the Cushing years. Many references and photographs of the house are present in Peter Cushing’s biography.

Ticketed and guided tours will be held for limited numbers.
