About

History

Formerly a Victorian pub, the building was taken over by a community group in the 1950s and has provided activities for Hoxton residents ever since.

Since 1984, it has been home to Ivy Street Family Centre, which provides support and activities for families with children under 5.

Fundraising to renovate the property has been ongoing for over 20 years, and we partnered with Sam Jacob to create a mixed use building - our centre utliising the ground and basement floors, and his multi-storey home above.

The eye-catching design of the building immediately sparked a lot of local interest, and some concern that it would no longer be a community hub. For those who have used our services in the past, this is a great opportunity to visit and see how we have maintained the heart of the building
