History

A house built in 1864 and renovated in 1984, then 1993 and finally in 2023.

The house is very unusual and is an example of how to adapt a Victorian house to modern living. Extensive work was carried out in 1984 ahead of the curve. The house has been used for many films and adverts due to its unique architectural design including a film of Tom Jones on the staircase in 1998.

Caledonian Park: Clock Tower Tours

The Caledonian Clock Tower was opened in 1855 as centrepiece of the Metropolitan Cattle Market. Standing at a height of 45 metres, the Clock Tower offers stunning panoramic views over London. The clock's mechanism was made by John Moore of Clerkenwell and its bells by the Whitechapel Foundry. The Clock Tower has been renovated with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Old Fire Station

The Old Fire Station is now a thriving community centre run by the Holloway Neighbourhood Group. It has been redeveloped for this purpose, now housing a community room, garden room and hall. The building has many original features (notably on the outside) and even though the usage has changed dramatically it remains an important emergency service for many in the local area.
