Guided walk (1 hour): An entertaining look at the architectural development of the landmark buildings in our area. We look at the amazing story of how St Mary's Church, Harrow on the Hill, was considered a key point by major players for over 1200 years. How the core buildings of Harrow School evolved under different architects and we look at the links of Wembley Stadium to Metroland.

Starting at 2pm from St Mary's Church Lychgate-we will lead a walk and talk about the stories of the three great local landmarks.
From the wonderful hilltop setting of St Mary's Church, Harrow-on-the Hill, we host a Heritage afternoon showcasing the stories behind the main architectural landmarks in our area.
St Mary's Church, Harrow-on-the Hill, has a unique and fascinating history-stemming from its vantage point as worshipping place for thousands of years.
The story of the church feeds into the story behind the founding of Harrow School, intended as a centre of education for poor farmers boys by the creator. As the school, evolved over 400 years, key architects were used to design a range of key buildings.
Then the arrival of trains and Metroland produced more fascinating stories and we will look out over the views of Wembley Stadium and hear the processes that led to its current design.
A full day of hospitality and discussion of local interest, our Community, volunteer-run, Spire Cafe will be open 11am to 6pm for home cooked fayre. St Mary's Church and churchyard will be open all day.
The Guided Walk and Talk "Stories of Local Landmarks" will take place at 2pm for one hour-from St Mary's Lych Gate.
