About

Urban Farm Tour and Tomato Tasting

Little Deptford Farm was created by Roberts & Treguer Studio in collaboration with Urban Organic. In 2021, the studio completed five Passivhaus homes and two townhouses on the edge of Deptford Park, transforming the central plot into a productive urban farm.

Today, the 3,500 sq ft site features a Dutch-style greenhouse, kitchen gardens, a pond, compost toilet and shelter, producing organic fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers for The Culpeper Family group of four pubs. The farm also serves as a shared community space, welcoming volunteers from the local area and pub teams each Wednesday.

Over the past few years, Urban Organic has nurtured the site using permaculture principles, focusing on soil regeneration, biodiversity and growing exceptional seasonal produce.

September is peak tomato season, when the greenhouse is filled with ripening varieties (with fantastic names like Wentzell Short or Orange Banana Vine) . Join our growers for a guided walk around the farm, learn about its regenerative approach, and taste tomatoes picked straight from the vine.
