There are steps into the building, and the paths through the churchyard to the building are uneven.
The chapel interior and exterior are very quiet (depending on who is in the building!). there is seating in and outside the building.
Managed by the Churches Conservation Trust, the Lumley Chapel is the remaining part of the mediaeval parish church of St Dunstan's. First built before the Norman Conquest, it contains many monuments to the villagers of Cheam including to John, Lord Lumley and his two wives, which dominate the chapel. The monuments hold many village tales, of schoolmasters and schoolboys, priests and lawyers, doctors and farmers, and businessmen and civil servants. A volunteer guide will be present.
