The George Padmore Institute is located on Stroud Green Road, Finsbury Park, in a Victorian terrace property which also houses New Beacon Books. Co- founded in 1991 by John La Rose and Sarah White, we are an archive and educational hub home to materials on the lives of black communities in post-war Britain. We invite the public to explore our history and handle some of our archival material.

A grand neo-classical building of 1871 with impressive interior, built as New Court Congregational Chapel. Home to a Hunter pipe organ, installed as a WW1 memorial and recently restored with National Lottery Heritage Fund support.

44 is a reconfiguration and extension of a charming and peculiar Victorian house. The original building was an opportunistic infill in the garden of an adjacent home, sitting alone behind two terraced streets. The architect and home owner saw the potential to expand the modest building, creating a pocket home which keeps their growing family in the community they have called home for 15 years.

Occupying a former park keepers lodge built in 1869, our museum has been created from scratch by people with experience of homelessness. We share our collection, museum and beautiful community garden through intimate tours. Our previous work has won many awards, including Temporary Exhibition of the Year (2022, Museum and Heritage Awards).

The Old Fire Station is now a thriving community centre run by the Holloway Neighbourhood Group. It has been redeveloped for this purpose, now housing a community room, garden room and hall. The building has many original features (notably on the outside) and even though the usage has changed dramatically it remains an important emergency service for many in the local area.
