Feathers Place was originally East Lane, connecting Greenwich Park to the river. No 14 has housed the Roan School for Boys, founded in 1643 and more recently contained textile archives of the National Maritime Museum. Today it is Meantime Studios, named after the Prime Meridian of the World on which it sits. Freeweaver Studio occupies the top floor, a bright vaulted spacious room with skylights.

Step inside a working Japanese-inspired weaving studio in the heart of historic Greenwich. Discover contemporary handweaving on handmade floor looms, explore natural fibres and beautiful textiles, watch live weaving demonstrations and experience the remarkable Victorian building that now houses Freeweaver.
Since its construction in 1877 as the Roan School For Boys, this Victorian building has continually adapted to new uses. For many years it housed Royal Museums Greenwich's conservation and archive departments, where historic and textiles and artifacts were preserved.
Today, Freeweaver once again fills the building with textiles, weaving and creativity, allowing visitors to experience a living craft in a place with an enduring connection to textile conservation.
