Croydon council's lead conservation officer, Nicolette Duckham, will be taking us on a walking tour of North End, encouraging us to 'look up'!
We will meet at the Croydon Urban Room: Sunday 13th September 14:00 - 15:30.
Join us for a free creative workshop exploring North End and Wellesley Road, and the role they play within the wider journey of Croydon town centre.
Using a large illuminated map, participants will choose a section of the town centre and add their ideas, dreams and aspirations through drawing and collage. Together, we'll create a glowing lantern of local voices and visions, showcasing what our town centre could become.
Tuesday 15th September 14:00 - 16:00.
We invite Croydon locals for a playful, creative workshop exploring the possibilities of North End and Wellesley Road — how could could we brighten and enrich the Croydon town centre experience. Co-hosted by the Croydon Urban Room and Croydon-born artist, researcher and London National Park City Ranger Becky Lyon, we’ll explore how we feel about these places today and what we want them to become.
Monday 14th September: 15:30 - 17:00.
Tuesday 15th September: 18:30 - 20:00.
As part of Croydon Urban Room's ongoing window exhibition series and Open House, Russell Royer will be leading a workshop celebrating the social clubs of Croydon. We will be engaging with the exhibition itself and understanding what kinds of clubs exist already in Croydon. We'll then discuss what could come next. Always wanted to start a chess club? Think Croydon is missing a knitting group? Today might be the day you start one!
September 12th September 13:00 - 16:00.
