The Croydon Urban Room is a space to talk about the past, present and future of the Croydon town centre. Through conversations, stories, exhibitions and events, the Urban Room brings together the views of those who live, work and visit the area to create a shared vision of the future and test new uses live in action.
East Croydon, West Croydon
The Live Archive paints a picture of the rich experiences and memories of those who live, work or visit the Croydon town centre – past, present and future. Come and explore what others have contributed, and add your own stories, memories or imaginations.
At the heart of the Croydon Urban Room is a model of the North End Quarter area of the Croydon Town Centre. Come and play with the model, add your ideas and proposals for how this historic area can evolve and change in the future!
'Croydon Unlocked' is an exhibition by artist and photographer Rachel Adams which explores a selection of Croydon's best loved buildings - including Electric House, Croydon Airport, South Norwood Library, Apollo House, and more - and the people who care for them. The exhibition is accompanied by a text by Croydon-born author, John Grindrod.
The exhibition opens on Saturday 14 September across 2 venues: here, at Croydon Urban Room and at Croydon Clocktower. Please refer to the seperate listing for 'Croydon Unlocked' for details on visiting the exhibition at the Clocktower.
