outhouse gallery is a small, independent, artist-run creative space located in Brunswick Park, Camberwell. Originally a public toilet, our gallery's mission is to be open, public, and accessible to both facilitators and visitors.

Officially opened at the end of March 2024, the gallery is dedicated to facilitating art initiatives in the park, providing artists with a platform to grow and experiment with their practices. We offer a diverse range of activities, including free exhibitions, live performances, and workshops, and will be soon providing a unique space for recording and broadcasting an independent radio station.

St Giles Parish Church, Camberwell

A large Grade II* listed parish church - built in 1844 it was the first church designed by George Gilbert Scott, grandfather of Giles Gilbert Scott (Tate Modern), to replace the previous medieval church that burnt down. We will be hosting an open day at the community centre to allow members of the public to view the building inside and out, and discuss ideas for the future of the building. One of a pair of modern houses on a sensitive site in a conservation area. A triple-height staircase atrium brings light into the heart of the house and ground floor areas open onto courtyard gardens on three sides.

This early British modernist house was recently renovated on a constrained site. Originally a single storey house, planning permission was granted for a second storey to double the internal floor space. Huge floor to ceiling windows with sliding doors open the interiors to bamboo-lined courtyards, encouraging a sense of inside-outside that is a hallmark of midcentury design.
