About

Letterpress Printing

At Paekakariki Press, we have the equipment and machinery that would have been familiar to printers from the age of Gutenberg until the 1980s.

Visitors will be able to print a keepsake on a Hopkinson and Cope Albion Press dating from 1891 and the same model used by William Morris at the Kelmscott Press.

Visitors will also be able to see how letterpress type was made and used until other processes became more common for printing in the 1980s.
