The owner, an Architect, previously worked with Knott Architects, and teamed up with them again to realise this project for her own home.
The importance of, and respect for, materials is evident in this design.
Carefully chosen white bricks are neatly stack bonded and on show inside and out.
Quarry tiled floors run out on to the patio.
Large expanses of glazing, with frameless corners, open the extension to the garden and bring the daylight in.
A sculptural in-situ concrete garden bench come ramp/steps makes the transition between house and lawn.
The extension is topped with a floating pebbledashed lid incorporating a green roof and rooflight.
At the top of the house is a new main bedroom with amazing views out across an archery field to Highgate Woods.
The neat compact en-suite shower room features a fine example of tile finishing.
