Harringay Green Lanes is one of London's most diverse streets, but it was once open farmland. This walking tour explores how the area changed over 150 years through urban development and migration. Using historic maps, old photographs and the streets around us, we will discover how different communities, especially the Kurdish community, helped shape Green Lanes into the place it is today.

Harringay Green Lanes is one of London's most diverse high streets, but it was once open farmland. This tour explores how the area changed over the last 150 years through urban development and migration. Using historic maps, old photographs and the streets around us, we will discover how the neighbourhood changed over time.

What will you discover?

Starting at Manor House, we will walk north along Green Lanes and explore Victorian houses, local shopping parades and the history of the area. The tour also looks at how migration shaped the neighbourhood, with a special focus on the Kurdish community. Together, we will explore ideas of migration, memory and belonging.
