Florentia Village is North London’s newest creative industrial estate, developed by General Projects as a working campus for makers, producers and creative businesses in the heart of the Harringay Warehouse District.
Originally established in the 1970s as a hub for garment manufacturers serving London’s fashion industry, Florentia has a long history of making. Today, that legacy has been reimagined for a new generation of creators, bringing together fashion brands, food producers, furniture makers, fabricators, artists, designers and production teams within a purpose-built light industrial campus.
Designed in collaboration with award-winning architects Turner Works, the transformation of Florentia balances the site’s industrial character with a contemporary, design-led approach. Through a careful combination of refurbishment and new purpose-built maker facilities, the village has been shaped around the realities of modern creative production - robust, flexible spaces, shared courtyards, open walkways and generous circulation that support both practical work and everyday connection.
As part of Open House Festival, visitors are invited to explore Florentia as a living, working village. The programme will include a makers market showcasing the creative businesses based on site, alongside guided tours led by Turner Works and General Projects, offering insight into the history of the estate, the design approach behind its transformation, and the role of light industrial space in supporting London’s creative economy.
Florentia is a place where ideas are born, made visible and brought to life - rooted in a rich manufacturing past, and reimagined as a new home for contemporary makers.
