Visit our beautiful Grade II listed Edwardian Corbett Community Library. Opened on 3 November 1907 with funding from Scottish philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the library has been sympathetically refurbished while retaining original features, including its impressive glass dome, stained glass windows and ornate door handles.
If a volunteer is available during your visit, we will be delighted to offer an informal tour of the building, providing additional insights into its history and unique features. We are also happy to share the story of the library's transformation from a council-run service to a thriving community library powered by volunteers, as we look ahead to celebrating our 10th anniversary in October.
