The church was rebuilt in late 15th century with some of that still remaining to this day. During the festival there will be opportunity to self-guide or join a group tour which will include access to restricted areas such as the crypt and tower. These last about 30 min and will start on each hour with the last starting at 3 pm

There are plenty of historic features in the church covering many centuries. The grounds of the church were allocated to monks by King Alfred in 918 and the first church became active c 940 with monks from St Pieter's Abbey, Gent.
The church was rebuilt in late 15th century with some of that still remaining to this day.
In the 18th century there was need for rebuild due to structural problems and growing numbers of people in Lewisham! Further extensions followed with the galleries added and the chancel created and consecrated in 1881.
Further re-ordering was undertaken in 1995 to create the present arrangement of the chancel.

Starting the Ladywell Cemetery gate, the tour will take in poets, actors, artists, local dignitaries and war veterans among others. The original Non-conformist chapel will be open as well.
