About

From warehouse to working campus

30 Engate Street was historically a warehouse and later a plumbers’ merchant. Blue Garage has adapted the 38,000 sq ft industrial building into a working innovation and production campus for founders, makers, designers and small businesses developing physical products in Lewisham.

What you’ll see

The visit moves from communal workspaces and meeting rooms into wood and metal workshops, assembly and finishing areas, 3D printing, textile and screen-printing labs, and Blue Factory’s large-format print, CNC cutting, fabrication and packaging facilities. Visitors will see how an idea can progress from an early prototype towards a finished product.

The story behind Blue Garage

Founder Michael Korn created Blue Garage after shared access to an engineering workshop enabled him to build the first prototypes for his own healthcare product and grow a London manufacturing business. Blue Garage extends that opportunity to others by bringing workspace, equipment, expertise and a collaborative community together under one roof.

Visiting a working production site

Blue Garage is an active workplace, not a staged exhibition. Some machinery may be operating and workshop access will be managed by staff. Visitors must follow instructions and remain within designated areas; specialist equipment may be viewed but cannot be used without an induction.
