London National Park City is the long-term grassroots movement for everyone making London greener, healthier and wilder.
During Open House our pop-up Visitors Centre at 80 Mortimer Street will be open to the public. We'll be hosting our Urban Nature and the Built Environment festival week on Fleet Street, with connected events across the city.
We'll showcase how to make the most of London as a National Park City, with places to visit and things to do across London, and how to volunteer in your local neighbourhood.
Signed in 2019 by the Mayor of London and by representatives of over 300 organisations, the Charter for London National Park City sets out our vision of making London a city where people, places and nature are better connected.
London is almost 50% green and blue space, with over 15,000 species other than humans, along with 8.4 million trees and over 4,000 parks.
Our Charter sets out how we collectively share the ambition, responsibility and power to work together for better:
1. Lives, health and wellbeing
2. Wildlife, trees and flowers
3. Places, habitats, air, water, sea & land
4. Time outdoors, culture, art, playing, walking, cycling and eating
5. Locally grown food and responsible consumption
6. Decisions, sharing, learning and working together
7. Relationships with nature and each other
Our second London National Park City Visitors Centre at 80 Mortimer Street is our shared community space where we explore how everyone can benefit and contribute every day in realising a city where all Londoners can connect with urban nature, supported by our volunteer Rangers who lead outdoor activities, nature engagement, and climate actions.
We’re open to the public every week day during Open House, with scheduled events through the weekend and evenings.
