This is a newly built and fitted out architecture studio in London Fields. We designed it as a flexible working and event space with the opportunity to align personal wellbeing and professional endeavour in one supportive space.

VATRAA's fibre-reinforced concrete extension to a Victorian house in London Fields is a project about materials, light and views. On the inside, the rough concrete floor, bench and worktop are balanced by oak and a jute fabric inspired by the client's art collection. On the outside, a fibre-reinforced external leaf reduced the concrete amount by 40% compared to a regular steel reinforcement.

Hackney Empire is a grade II* listed building. The theatre was built as a music hall in 1901, designed by the architect Frank Matcham. It is now an exceptional variety theatre for the 21st century, serving the local community and beyond.
