Visit Vyner Studios, the new home of Studio Bark and U-Build. This light-touch retrofit turns a stranded warehouse into a circular 'Material Bank.' Modular U-Build partitions can be endlessly unbolted, proving interiors are adaptable assets, not sunk costs. Finished with plywood, acoustic Hemspan, cork and clay paints, it offers a radical, healthy blueprint for future creative workspaces.

Unit 13 is a space of many parts - office, workshop, venue, exhibition space, and screening room. It is concieved as a social space in which to collaborate. A place of exchange - both ideas, skills, knowledge, and energy. During the working week we have three architecture practices working from the space - AH A, LSD, and TJA - alongside a revolving exhibition. During the weekend, we have talks.

The Canal Club, a 1978 modernist community centre designed by Julian Sofaer, is a modest, open-plan space. It features a community garden developed by the boating community moored alongside it.

While cafes, markets, and restaurants come and go, the high street once felt immutable until online shopping and same-day delivery eroded its vitality. Our office at 493 Hackney Rd, once London’s oldest ironmongers, then a plant shop, was renovated to preserve character and serve as our long term base. We look forward to continuing the journey of opening our shop to new visitors and collaborators.

Morris+Company is an award-winning architecture practice based in Hackney, east London. We have applied circular economy principles to the retrofit of our own studio, gallery and café space on Mare Street, reducing waste, reusing materials, and designing for longevity. Through our public exhibition and event programme we place the creative ‘act’ of architecture onto the high street.

Grade II* listed building designed by Edward Goldie, built in 1911 in the Gothic style with five buttressed bays. Church interior is simple consisting of large nave and high & deep chancel. Nave side walls show shallow-arched recesses into which are fitted finely carved oak confessional boxes and colourful altars and statues throughout. One of only two Assumptionist Parishes in the UK.

Hackney Empire is a grade II* listed building. The theatre was built as a music hall in 1901, designed by the architect Frank Matcham. It is now a variety theatre for the 21st century, serving the local community and beyond.
