The museum is part of the Bank of England rebuilding in the 1930's by Sir Herbert Baker. One room is a reconstruction of 1793 Bank of England Stock Office by Sir John Soane.

A church building has occupied this site for at least a thousand years. Destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666, but rebuilt in the 1670s. Known as a Wren church, the architect was Nicholas Young.

St Mary Abchurch is a unique City church. Unlike almost every church in the City of London it has an almost complete Christopher Wren interior, and it has a painted dome: one of only three Wren domes in the City.

Dutch bank ING moved its UK office to this special building in 2016. The building blends a historic exterior (including its original Portland stone façade) with a modern 135,220 sq ft of office space. City Heritage Award winner 2015.

In 1666, a devastating fire swept through the City of London, destroying 13,200 houses, 87 parish churches, The Royal Exchange, Guildhall and St. Paul's Cathedral. The Fire started on Sunday, 2 September 1666 in Thomas Farriner's bake in on Pudding Lane belonging to Christopher Wren played a major role in rebuilding the City.
