On this walk you will see some of the forgotten contributions of Victorian women to the magnificent buildings of South Kensington, in particular the V&A and the Royal Albert Hall. You will also see how women were represented very differently from men on the buildings and memorials of this internationally important arts and science district.

The walk end at Kensington Gore, north of the Roual Albert Hall.

Join Iya London for a thought-provoking walking tour exploring the hidden contributions of Victorian women to the architecture and design of South Kensington.
Discover how they helped shape this renowned arts and science district—and why their stories remain largely untold.
You'll also explore the differing representations of men and women in the area’s public spaces. This walk will change the way you see South Kensington!
We'll focus on the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal School of Mines, the Memorial to the 1851 Great Exhibition, the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial.
Joanna Oyediran is a qualified Open City guide. She regularly leads walks round White City for Open City as part of their year-round tours programme. Her other clients have included the Royal College of Art, the LSE, the Great Exhibition Road Festival, and Planning Aid for London.
