Outstanding Edwardian building (1905 grade II; many original features). The oldest UK adult college, founded as the Working Men's College in 1854 by FD Maurice, John Ruskin & Christian Socialist. One of four Commissioners’ Churches by W and HW Inwood in Camden, St Mary’s is currently hidden by a scaffolding crash deck that is protecting the public from the risk of falling stonework. Threatened with closure and demolition in 2024, the Grade II listed church has been championed by conservation groups and community alike, for the importance of its social history as well as its architecture.

Nestled off a busy street in Camden, the former industrial building has been home to architectural firm Sheppard Robson for over 40 years. A series of additions have allowed more amenity, social spaces, and diversity in work settings.

Dating from 11/12C and standing on the oldest site of Christian worship in London (3C). Inside is much 17C ornamentation and outstanding 6C Altar Stone, reputed to have belonged to St Augustine. Surrounding Churchyard, containing tombs of Sir John Soane, Mary Wollstonecraft and others, has been extensively restored and recently refurbished.

A walk round Somers Town by locals founders of a museum to preserve an area that feels at risk of extinction. A Space for Us – People’s Museum Somers Town is a space to preserve local voice and the area; to celebrate an incredible ‘radical, reformers and uncommon people’s‘ histories, to record the change now, as well as to campaign and preserve local working class heritage.

A great little museum set in the Grade 2 listed Ossulston Estate - a prime example of pre-war Social housing - based on Karl Marz Hof in Vienna. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm, plus Sunday 13th 12am-4pm.

Camden Tour Guides Association will celebrate the history and heritage of Somers Town with a day of dedicated tours exploring the rich social history and architecture of this community, now a regeneration area, sandwiched between the major transport hubs of Euston and St Pancras stations. Hear about its historical roots as a 19th Century slum and the housing reformers who transformed it.

Purpose built to house the English Folk Dance and Song Society, this Grade II listed building was designed by members of the Art Workers Guild of the time. Bomb damaged in 1940, rebuilt and reopened in 1950. Iconic Ivon Hitchins mural.

The museum houses hundreds of artefacts that provide a rich history of the instruments, innovations and patient care over the last 300 years. There are glass cabinets that display some of the artefacts. Much of this collection and its display has been built up by Richard Keeler, who is a widely published expert on ophthalmic history. He has been the Honorary Museum Curator since 1999.
