The first residents have moved into the capital’s biggest community-led self-build project, coordinated by the Rural Urban Synthesis Society (RUSS): 36 flats in two linked buildings, a new public riverside garden and shared community spaces. As a Community Land Trust, RUSS aims to create sustainable and permanently affordable homes in a community woven into the wider communities of Lewisham.

Join the Archibald Corbett Society for a fascinating two-hour guided walk through Catford's historic Corbett Estate. Led by ACS Secretary Ben Honeybone, you'll explore the estate's late Victorian and early Edwardian history and architecture, including visits to the Grade II listed Corbett Community Library and St Andrew's Church.

Starting at the Ladywell Cemetery gate, the tour will take in poets, actors, artists, local dignitaries and war veterans among others. The original Non-conformist chapel will be open as well.

Stories of Belonging – It Takes Courage, is a short film by Halyna Skvortsova, which explores how different waves of migration have shaped Lewisham, featuring voices from the Windrush Generation and Vietnamese, African, Eastern European, Afghan, and Ukrainian communities. The screening takes place in the new SHAPES Lewisham community space, for creatives to meet, work, learn and collaborate.

Our regular volunteer session caring for our wildlife garden, food forest, tiny forest, pond, swales, trees and meadows. Learn about gardening, biodiversity and community action in an urban setting from the Friends group. We will be talking about our journey to create habitats, improve access, and boost climate resilience, and the impacts for the Fields' biodiversity and the local community.

A close of 13 self-built houses. Each is unique, built using methods developed by Walter Segal, who led the project in the mid 1980s. Houses have been extended and renovated. Sustainable features including solar electric, water & space heating.
