About

Drawing London Exhibition

Drawing Matter is pleased to be participating in the 2025 Open House Festival with ‘Drawing London’, an exhibition that maps the city through drawings from the collection for familiar buildings, those that have been lost over time, others that were never built, and radical projects.

Projects include: The British Library, The Brunswick Centre, The Houses of Parliament, The Victoria & Albert Museum, Churchill Gardens, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, Brown Hart Gardens, The Thames Tunnel, The Festival of Britain, Temple Bar, Hay’s Wharf, Lisson Gallery, Golden Lane, Mansion House Square, and more.

About Drawing Matter

Drawing Matter explores the role of drawing in architectural thought and practice, through publications, exhibitions, and workshops for students and practitioners. Central to our activities is the Drawing Matter Collection of many thousands of architectural and design drawings from across the world, dating from the Renaissance to the present day.

Our website is a fast-growing repository of new and historical writings on drawing, currently containing over 1300 texts (with at least two added each week) and visited by 650 readers a day. Many of the texts address material in the Drawing Matter Collection, while others examine drawings and objects archived elsewhere and made by practitioners working today.
