Three centuries of Quakers in Westminster. Opened in 1883, with front doors added in the 1920s. It was bomb-damaged in 1941 and rebuilt in 1956. Grade II listed registered place of worship, it contains a peaceful meeting room and 1950s wood panelling and fittings.

Drawing Matter explores the role of drawing in architectural thought and practice. Central to our activities is the Drawing Matter Collection of many thousands of architectural and design drawings from across the world, dating from the Renaissance to the present day. In October 2024, Drawing Matter moved its activities and collection from Shatwell Farm to Smart’s Place, Central London.

The area post 1700 became very cosmopolitan with immigrants mainly from Europe and their influence on food and drink became increasingly important. This tour is based on food and drink, passing by restaurants, pubs, coffee bars and pâtisserie delis that have been present for decades, finishing at a relatively new site.

St George's Bloomsbury is one of the twelve new churches designed and paid for under the 1711 Act of Parliament for building fifty new Churches, and the sixth and final London Church designed by Hawksmoor.

The Smallest Gallery in Soho is a historic shop-front which faces onto 62 Dean Street, in the heart of Soho. The aim of this creative space is to display artwork that captures people’s attention on their journey through Soho and encourage them to stop, think and be inspired. The art displays are only to be viewed from the street and can be seen at any time of the day for free.

The leafy Georgian streets of Bloomsbury were shaken up in the 1930s by a new wave of development, from great academic institutions to speculative flats for modern urban living, plus probably the most stylish car showroom in London. We'll explore the range of 1930s architectural styles used in some famous and not so famous buildings, and even take a peek inside where we can.
