As part of SET’s 10th anniversary celebrations, SET Titchfield and SET Tabernacle will open their doors for the third stop on SET’s month-long Open Studios tour. Located next door to each other in the heart of Old Street, the two former commercial buildings have been transformed into genuinely affordable artist studios, now home to a wide range of artistic practices.
Visitors are invited to wander between the two spaces, meet the artists, peek at works in progress and get an insight into what goes on behind the doors.
SET is a London-based contemporary arts charity transforming vacant buildings into spaces for experimental culture and community. Founded in 2016, it has grown into a network of spaces supporting nearly 1,000 artists through some of London’s most affordable studios, alongside a year-round public programme of exhibitions, performances, residencies, workshops and live events. SET works with artists and local communities to create accessible spaces for culture, while advocating for affordable creative space across the city.
Located on the ground floor of SET Tabernacle, SET’s contemporary art gallery, SET 91, will also host the opening of a new exhibition by studio members Ismay Bright and Peter Eason Daniels.
Anchored in the collection of found text, the show explores the preservation of these words and phrases through their respective analog mediums of mosaic and film.
Free drinks will be served throughout the evening. Whether a neighbour, art lover or simply curious, everyone is welcome.
