The home of Eric and Jessica Huntley , community activists and educators who founded the pioneering company Bogle-L'Ouverture Publications in 1968, lived and ran their bookshop from this semi detached property soon after. The house is a Black British cultural archivists dream; filled with books, arts and craft and correspondence from the 1960s to the present day.

Brixton House Theatre

Brixton House is a modern, purpose-built theatre and cultural hub located in the heart of Brixton, South London, which opened in 2022 as the new iteration of the renowned Ovalhouse Theatre. It features two theatre spaces, rehearsal rooms, and a café-bar, functioning as a community-focused venue dedicated to showcasing new, diverse, and experimental work.

Caribbean Heritage walking tour of Peckham

Gentrification and African Presence in Peckham (GAPP) walking tour highlights the spaces occupied by the Caribbean community, 1960 – 1990. The pinnacle of the walking tour contextualises the significant educational, recreational and cultural spaces which shaped Peckham’s social, cultural, political and economic history over a defined period.

Three-bay timber-framed yeoman house built c1420 with list of previous owners dating back to 1429. Part wall painting of hunting scene on dining room wall (16C). Tudor upstairs window and a smoke room still intact. Entrance porch dates from 16C.

Freud Museum London

Freud Museum London is the final home of the founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, where he and his family moved to flee Nazi persecution in 1938. Freud's famous study has been preserved as he left it upon his death in 1939, while the rest of the home has been carefully transformed into a Museum celebrating the life and work of Sigmund and his daughter Anna, a pioneering child psychologist.

Morden Extension Centenary: Tours

This year, we are celebrating the centenary of the Morden Extension, designed by Charles Holden. The seven stations of this extension on the Northern line represent both an engineering and an architectural achievement for London Underground. This tour will take participants through the stations, describing their architectural details and what it takes to operate them today.

'Povera' meaning 'poor art' in Italian, is an ongoing project made by mixed-media artist Michael Connell. In his back garden in Catford, Michael has built an unbelievable shed, fusing art and nature, that's made entirely of waste materials from skips and people's unwanted items. Exploring themes of music, family, heritage and nature, step inside the ever-evolving magic of the Povera shed.

Print Portal

An interactive print making workshop exploring the threshold between public and gallery space through exchange and collection. Using the gallery hatch, visitors are invited to transform found ephemera into printed artworks. Inspired by the exhibiting artists' practices, the workshop playfully turns the gallery into a machine for making art, reimagining the traces of everyday life in Hackney.

Built as a private house for his parents, the project encapsulates Rogers' vision of a home built using industrially manufactured components. As such it was seen as a prototype for mass affordable housing. Opening for the Festival in association with The Wimbledon Society

Straw-ctural Designers

Scale Rule brings young people together with architects and structural engineers to design and build their ideal school space, with a focus on interacting with our natural environment. Pick a prompt card - a library in a treehouse, a canteen on the canal, a rooftop forest playground - then sketch it and build it in straws and paperclips alongside practicing professionals.

String House - Camberwell

Contemporary timber frame home with unique string screen; a postwar house reassembled to follow passive house principles. The structure was built in 7 weeks to create a reimagined flexible home of two halves enabling an Airbnb rental that bypasses the first floor kitchen & living area, located to borrow views towards mature trees at the rear & city buses to the front expanding senses & spaces.

Strongroom

Established 1984, Strongroom has produced some of the biggest records in British music and remains the largest independent recording studio in East London. Featuring unique visual design by legendary artist Jamie Reid (Sex Pistols), these spaces are unlike any other. Reid's work draws from druidic culture and sacred geometry to convey vital messages of hope, environmentalism and anti-fascism.

The Gaumont State Theatre

The Gaumont State Theatre in Kilburn, London, reopened for a live concert on 6 November 2025 for the first time in almost 50 years. Now a church, the former 4,004-seat super cinema welcomed a near-capacity audience for a performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and guest singers.

The Great Barn, Harmondsworth

This year we’re celebrating the 600th anniversary of Harmondsworth’s magnificent Great Barn. It’s over 190 feet long, nearly 40 feet high, and over 95% of its structural timbers are original. Displays include details of its construction, the conservation/repairs carried out in 2014, and its place in the agricultural history of the village.

40 Lime Grove has provided creative education to young people for over a century. Opening in 1908 as the Hammersmith College of Art and Building, it is now UAL School of Pre-Degree Studies. A handsome building, influenced by the Arts and Crafts style with gables, mullioned windows, and steep pitched roofs, it is listed Grade II by Historic England. There is also a listed Mulberry tree.

A close of 13 self-built houses. Each is unique, built using methods developed by Walter Segal, who led the project in the mid 1980s. Houses have been extended and renovated. Sustainable features including solar electric, water & space heating.
